Gina DeVee~Divine Living: The Beauty of Budapest Part 2

July 12, 2012 by

Since my husband and I love everything about traveling through France & Italy, that's where we for years now keep going back to over and over again.

So this summer, we challenged ourselves that for the months of June and July we'd only visit NEW places in Europe.  As a result, so far we've experienced Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin, Prague, and now I bring to you the hidden gem of Europe...the beauty of Budapest.

I NEVER ...A) thought I'd do this, and once I did "it" ...B) I NEVER thought I'd tell anyone.  So here goes.  Since we've been moving around at quite a pace, approximately 3-4 days per city, we were looking for quick ways to get to know these new-to-us I share with you what has now become an inside joke between me and my beloved husband:  Hop on.  Hop off.

Yes.  We have become one of those tourists on the double-decker red buses...headphones and all!

If you look closely you can see the headphones.

In my own royal defense, I must say, I'm thrilled we've been doing it because we get to see the city (more than if we just walked), learn some of the history, (admittedly I'm not a huge fan of parliament houses and I can only see so many churches), however I've enjoyed learning some quirky history tips, and getting a beautiful overview of the city has worked great for us.

Here are some pictures from the "hop off" parts of our Budapest tour...

Enjoying castle life. Imagine living in something of this grand frequency...

More glorious sightseeing...

    Great night shot!!
Isn't it super fun to mix tourist goodness with soaking into familiarity? Love the contrast of exploration/touristy goodness in this post and your home-made July 4th celebration.
