Ahhh, what a glorious 6 1/2 months of travel it’s been!  I really ought to do a montage of this epic journey…but that’s a creative outlet for another day!

I’m wrapping up my time in the English countryside…and what a glorious place it’s been for me be to be in the “in between”.  Here’s a picture of the farmhouse my husband and I have been staying in…cooking, cozying up to fires every night, going for long walks, and I’ve done plenty of journaling too.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes, best-selling author of Women Who Run With the Wolves talks about a world in between worlds…and that’s exactly where I’ve been for much of 2012, and from what I hear from my Divine Living Radio Show listeners and Feminine Art of Manifesting participants, many other women have been in that “in between” space too.

In today’s Divine Living Radio Show I’m going to address the power of this “in between” time, what it’s for, how it can help you (or keep you stuck) from moving on into the next chapter of your life, plus give you tips on how to manage what can be very frustrating and fearful times with greater power, awareness and ease.

In today’s international Divine Living Radio Talk Show I’m going to be discussing:

I’m loving the English countryside…AND I’m so grateful to announce I am successfully beginning week 2 of my DIY Detox.  I’ve been spending time with friends, going for walks, gave myself an at-home manicure, and even hosted a private intensive in our farmhouse for an international client.

My view on a blissful autumn walk in the English countryside…

I’m feeling really empowered in my life and am finding that from this place, my desires become clearer, which makes them far easier to manifest.  Did you know that statistically, only 1 in 100 people know what they want?  I’ve always been the type of person who’s known what I’ve wanted in life…or so I thought!

When I have been clear, BIG things, REALLY BIG and fun opportunities fall into my lap, like working at the White House, the Supreme Court, Harvard’s Institute of Politics, with Marianne Williamson, selling many $100k programs, getting married at the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome and even more recently, having been on a traveling adventure with my husband for 6-months, enjoying our lives and this beautiful planet from Palm Springs to Portugal to Puglia (Italy), and having over 300 women from around the world join me and Rose Cole for our Feminine Art of Manifesting Program.

So this has been the easy part…want to know the hard part?  All of the other times, when I thought I had a desire or goal, but it wasn’t 100% ME.  I’ve spent SO MUCH time and energy over the years doing what I now call, “applying for what I don’t really want”.  And this has included applying to universities, where I didn’t even love the campus, or for jobs that I thought would pay well, but weren’t my zone of genius, or tried to get clients for what was a fine service but not my true calling.  The same situation used to happen when I’d go for the guys who’d never really love me or do life the way I truly wanted.  And trying to get in with peer and professional circles that just were not my tribe.

The Universe Is On Your SideThe older I get (I’m going to be 40 in a few months!), the more I’m able to surrender into the truth of God’s love for me and for all.  We are created with a vibrant life force and purpose that does not bless or benefit anyone when we go for what isn’t authentically US.  I know this sounds obvious, but the courage it takes to drop the conditioning of who we’re “supposed” to be, or how we’re “supposed” to make the money or who we’re “supposed” to marry is fierce.  It takes fiercely feminine courage to go for –FULLY–the most magical and natural state of YOU.

In today’s international Divine Living Radio Talk Show I’m going to be discussing:

When our friends, Zoltan Konrady and Aletta Lukacsy said they wanted to bring us to a traditional Hungarian restaurant–my husband and I immediately said, “Yes”.  When they shared with us that this was the place they were married…we knew it would be a night to remember forever.

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to this legendary establishment when I was in Budapest.

Károly Gundel opened his restaurant in this spot in 1910. The restaurant soon became a meeting place for politicians, prominent members of the business community and the bourgeois middle class. It was fashionable to dine in the Gundel, which boasted many artists, athletes, writers and various celebrities among its regular patrons.

Gundel Restaurant owed its popularity to two things: its inimitable hospitality and its unsurpassable cuisine. The ingenious Károly Gundel, who managed the restaurant in the early part of the 20th century, had an intuitive knack for bringing the best out of Hungarian cuisine by combining its original, unbridled flavors with the refined approach of French cuisine and applying modern gastronomic technology.

His pioneering work placed Hungary on the world map of gastronomy. According to the New York Times, Gundel Restaurant’s set-up at the 1939 World Fair in New York did more to enhance Hungary’s reputation than a shipload of tourist brochures could have done. Gundel Restaurant proudly upholds its traditions and continues to provide the same standard of gastronomic excellence that has made it Hungary’s most famous restaurant. It is their conviction that Gundel is not a synonym for luxury, but for quality.–Gundel The Restaurant

Glenn and I waited in this “Old Fashioned” Bar for our friends

Ali and I ordered Champagne for an aperitif…when our flutes arrived, they came with foie gras rolled in black truffles. I. Love. Budapest.

You must understand Hungary = goose liver. This variation is on brioche with caramelized onion and sea salt…divine.

Admittedly, this photo does not begin to express the majesty that this “Hungarian Goulash” deserves. The beef was succulent and tender, the tomato broth quite elegant. Not at all the “stew” Americans think it is.

What a night. Thank you Zoltan & Ali!

Last August, I brought my Benevolent Queen women’s coaching group to Napa for a celebration of their amazing accomplishments over our 8-months together.

Gina DeVee's Benevolent Queen coaching group celebration in Napa Valley

One of the fun things we did was go on an all-day, private wine tasting tour throughout the Napa Valley.

Champagne Tasting in Napa Valley

Cheers!

Though I sampled many sumptuous wines that day, I fell in love with Jessup Cellars, located in Yountville.

Jessup Cellars Headquarters

For me, not only are their wines DIVINE…their style has just the right amount of casual elegance.  In their private tasting room, they provided a gorgeous wine tasting of their many selections…

And we got to nibble on this glamorous cheese & dried fruit plate…

Yummm!

I so enjoyed the day (and the wines) that I even joined their exclusive wine club.  You can’t get Jessup Cellars wines outside of Napa, AND, this Queen was not going to be deprived of her favorite tastings of the day!

If you’re wondering why I’m writing to you today, about an event that took place 9 months ago, it’s because TODAY, I just received another Jessup Cellars delivery from being in their wine club!  Yes, that’s right, while I’m here in Palm Springs, I’ll be able to enjoy the gorgeous wines that I fell in love with last summer in Napa Valley.

All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast.”–John Gunther

I’m not sure about ALL happiness, though I do know that when I start my day somewhere beautiful (whether at home or on travels) and I get to experience a relaxed and long breakfast…I feel more feminine, more soft, and definitely more Queenly.

One of the new adventures my husband and I enjoyed in Palm Springs, was brunch at the Riviera.  The poolside vibe was divine, and the Old Hollywood Glamour suited me just fine.  Here are some shots from our most enjoyable morning there:

Shaded and tranquil outdoor seating

I know we're talking breakfast, but I loved this cocktail nook!

Back to breakfast...Mediterranean Omelette for 2

For me, my leisure breakfast would not be complete without this King of a man!

What are your favorite leisurely breakfast spots?  Let me know in the comments section below…

I woke up today, and realized I was wasting time.  I was “doing” tasks that had gone past the point of not wanting to…and veered into being resentful of having to do them.  Though I realize “hate” is a strong word…if I used another, I’d be making this conversation “fluffy”…not something I’m typically known for. ;)

It’s been chilly here in Malibu, so I was feeling the desire for some warm homemade soup to cozy up with.  I also remembered that I had gone to the market and bought some ingredients for a different dish that I never made.  So in my fridge I had:

  • Pancetta
  • Leeks
  • Potatoes
  • Cream
  • Garlic
  • Vegetable broth

And that’s basically all you need for this scrumptious winter dish…oh, that by the way, is made in MINUTES!

First, start with a super fun Le Crueset dutch oven (or any pot with a lid will do)!

Le Crueset Dutch Oven

Next, add a little extra virgin olive oil-about 2 tablespoons.

2-3 Tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil on medium high heat

This next part of the Potage Parmentier is the Gina DeVee style–add 4 oz. of diced pancetta!

Pancetta! Mmmmm...

The next simple step is to chop 3 cups of leeks…

Yes this is me, and no I had no makeup on...

Once the pancetta crisps up nicely, add the 3 cups of leeks to the pancetta mixture.

Pancetta + Leeks = Delicious

Next, dice about 3 cups of potatoes…

Same no makeup situation.

Voila!

Pretty diced potatoes (3 cups)

Then add the potatoes to the pancetta and leeks…

Stir all of the ingredients together...ANY woman entrepreneur can do this!

Next, cover this mixture with water and vegetable stock in equal parts about a quart total.

We're almost there!

I added a sprig of thyme too…

Fresh thyme!

Bring the entire mixture to a boil, then turn down to simmer, cover for 30-60 minutes.  Then, using an immersion blender (or any device that will mash up the soup) blend to desired consistency. (You could even transfer to a blender).

Now for the grand finale!

Potage Parmentier--Gina DeVee style!

Enjoy!  My husband certainly did!

Cheers to you this winter.  Stay warm.
